•How Can I confirm my cake?

For standard cake orders under $300, full payment is required within 48 hours to confirm the order; rushed order payments are due same day. Additionally, orders over $300 will need to submit a 50% deposit at the time of confirmation; where the final balance will then be due approximately 2 weeks before the delivery/pickup date. Without payment received within the aforementioned timeframe, I will assume the order is cancelled. Please plan to submit all orders 1-4 weeks in advance of the event date. A rush fee of +$20 will be applied if a cake is needed within 3 days of event date.

•Why do I need to order in advance?

This gives me time to source the highest quality ingredients for your cake & ensure that attention to detail is always at the forefront. This also allows for us to create a comfortable pickup/delivery time & date for you. For custom flavors, please allow time for trials.

•Can I change my flavor or design after I confirm my order?

For standard sized cakes, I allow for minimal changes (i.e. color scheme) up to 4 days before the cake is due. For larger cakes, changes aren’t accepted unless it is minimal design change (i.e., color scheme). This request must be submitted no later than 30 days before the event, as it is harder to change the design of larger, more intricate cakes.

•How do I store my cake after I receive it?

If you plan to eat the cake within an hour of receiving it, you can keep it at room temperature; unless specified to do otherwise due to the filling/coating of choice. Otherwise, keep it chilled until an hour before serving.

•Can I cancel my order after I confirmed?

Say you ordered but just remembered, "Darn it! I'll be on vacation during that time!" & you need to cancel, orders cancelled *less than 24 hours after* confirmation may receive 100% of their payment back. However, if cancelled after the 24 hour mark, you may only receive 50% of your payment back.

•Can I reschedule my order to another day?

Absolutely! If you have a change in schedule and need to move your pickup/delivery date to another day and time, I will work with you to make sure you get it on time.

•Do you deliver cakes?

Yes! I deliver to the Greater Metro Detroit area. If delivery is preferred, the price is based on location, beginning at +$15.

•Does Halcyon Patisserie offer Vegan, Gluten-Free cake options?

Yes! Simply inform me on your inquiry form of your dietary restrictions and I can accommodate you.

•Can I request a custom flavors?

Absolutely! Depending on how far advance the request is received, I can develop & test a flavor that is not on the current menu. Please keep in mind that some flavors/combinations may not be advised, & based on that, they may not be accepted. However, simply include your request on your inquiry form & we can discuss it.

•How long does the cake stay fresh after receiving?

It is recommended that the cake is consumed within 2-3 days. After that, you can slice, wrap in plastic wrap or a Ziploc, and freeze for up to 2 months. To defrost, leave in the fridge overnight or microwave in 10 seconds intervals until it is at your desired texture.

•Are the flowers edible?

For the most part, no. They are mainly used as an extensive decorative tool to enhance the cakes. Sometimes, however, I will include edible flowers, in which I will let the customer know at the time of hand-off.

•Why are the cakes priced the way they are?

You are paying for my unique artistry, experience and expertise. It takes upwards to 5-7 hours, sometimes longer depending on how intricate the design is for each unique cake. Currently, I am working small-scale as the one wearing all the hats to provide a unique and comforting experience to all of my customers. The pricing helps support my business while I answer emails, source ingredients, bake, update social media, make deliveries, run photography, design, run inventory and so much more. I appreciate your understanding!
